This book resonates likely with anybody who has felt there is something deeply out of sync in the way we humans navigate life and what we believe life to be.
Have you always felt that there was more to the substance of the world, but you couldn’t quite articulate how or what? If so, The Path of Empowerment may be full of confirmation moments. It seems to speak to those things one has always sensed but couldn’t quite put their finger on or convincingly prove with “hard” evidence.
This book resonates likely with anybody who has felt there is something deeply out of sync in the way we humans navigate life and what we believe life to be. There are many societies in which people feel resigned to accept things as they are - “That’s just how people are.” or “That’s the reality of the world we live in.” In these words and thoughts, we disempower ourselves, and this book leads the reader on a journey of contemplation that invites one to recognize when and how we disempower ourselves. It also invites us to take steps that empower us once again.
For example, after reading this book I feel empowered to counter those above statements with “This is what we have accepted the world to be.” and “This is the reality of the reality we’ve collectively created.” In these statements lies empowerment because at any moment, one can stop accepting and endeavour to create a new reality.
When I was living in Germany there was a demonstration on my block. An increasingly extreme right wing political party was marching (the name of the party escapes me as I choose to not take up space in my powerfully creative brain with something as toxic as politics). After this demonstration, the participants had a closed door “after-party” in a local restaurant - the restaurant was also closed to the public that day in order to facilitate this post-demo gathering. Many of my neighbours decided to boycott said establishment, myself included. When I mentioned this to some colleagues, their response was - “So what?” “What does it matter that you don’t go?” “Everyone needs somewhere to eat/gather - why should the restaurant say no to that political party?”
The Path of Empowerment reminds us that we always have choices, even if those choices are not attractive, not ideal or not easy.
My response at the time was this - Everyone else can do and think what they want. The reality that I want to create does not include what I witnessed that day, and so I will not support it with my time, money or energy. My money and my intentions will go towards things that resonate with my spirit. What anyone else thinks about that is quite irrelevant. Let it be known that society is not an anonymous clump - it is hundreds, thousands, millions of individuals who agree on many things - how to operate, how to speak to each other, how to treat each other. In order for any of that to change, some people have to choose not to agree.
The Path of Empowerment reminds us that we always have choices, even if those choices are not attractive, not ideal or not easy. It’s also a great boost to the soul of anyone who has been belittled or ridiculed for thinking themselves important. It is a reminder that you are important and powerful even when no one acknowledges it. And it reminds us that, actually, there is always someone acknowledging it - your higher self, for one, and your huge star family who are too many to be counted.
