April 2022 Book Review: Your Hidden Symmetry

Author: Jean Hanen with contributions by Louise Hay

Publisher: Hay House Inc.

Year: 2013

When I chose to download this book, I didn’t read the description too deeply. I was drawn in by the nautilus shell illustration on the cover. So I was a little disappointed when I discovered the book has nothing to do with astrology. Admittedly, my own fault. But on the flip side, I thought “ooh, something new awaits!” And new it was, for the most part, but not right from the beginning.

Once you know your number pattern, you can read what each of these numbers means for your main personality, your emotional self and your life challenge or true calling.

Hanen starts out by introducing readers to the Nine Star Ki Chart, which you will use to identify your three-number pattern. Once you know your number pattern, you can read what each of these numbers means for your main personality, your emotional self and your life challenge or true calling.

It goes on to outline your personal seasons - what they are and when they will occur for you - and includes affirmations that can assist you at each stage of the cycle.

Lousie Hay has contributed affirmations tailored to each one of your three numbers, and each of the personal seasons. This information is meant to empower you to go with the flow - to know when to act and when to allow.

I was shocked at how accurate my number pattern and the associated descriptions reflected me.

If you’ve already been into esoterics and books on spirituality, you may find yourself wanting to rush through the explanations on tao, reincarnation or the author’s attempt to introduce the “concept of ancestors”. These sections are definitely directed towards readers who are new to esoteric topics.

Once past that section, I was shocked at how accurate my number pattern and the associated descriptions reflected me. And you're not left with this new knowledge and no tools to integrate it into your life. The numerous affirmations offered in this book can be used as mantras to speak, ideas to meditate on or journal prompts.

Your Hidden Symmetry is an anecdotal, light-hearted read that provides useful insight into the self and life’s cycles.

In summary, I found Your Hidden Symmetry is an anecdotal, light-hearted read that provides useful insight into the self and life’s cycles. Regardless of how long or how deeply you’ve delved into esoteric topics, once you’ve read this book you will want to refer back to it over the course of your lifetime.

NOTE: In the past, there have been complaints that this book is not properly formatted for Kindle, and therefore the chart to find your numbers is not usable. This may have been rectified since then, as I didn’t have any issues finding my numbers.
